Are you an experienced Office Manager with a background in Accounting? This may be the opportunity for you. 

Our client, a Growing Power and Utilities Company in the London, ON area is looking for a Manager of Finance and Administration to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for directly overseeing the Finance, Human Resources and IT functions. Customer relationships to optimize each and every customer contact, while maintaining professionalism with more difficult customers/buyers and will improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals.
  • Participate in development of short and long term strategic plans, yearly business planning
  • Champion and drive continuous Improvement Projects – related to IT, Human Resources and Accounting
  • Creating and maintaining employee incentive programs – including RSP programs
  • Assist with payroll functions – time and attendance systems, posting journals
  • Review and clearing of open receiving reports
  • Reconciliation of all bank accounts on a daily basis
  • Work with external accountants to ensure financial results follow generally accepted accounting principles and proper internal controls are in place
  • Collection of accounts receivable – recommending credit status and updates as required
  • Effectively work with other departments to resolve invoicing and receiving issues
  • Processing of Employee expense reports and company credit cards as required
  • Process requests for insurance certificates, WSIB clearance certificates, etc. as required
  • Preparation of Month End Financial statements for all companies
  • Complete Month end reporting procedures – ie run inventory reports, update usage, open and close financial periods.
  • Review of general ledgers for all companies
  • Review customer complaints focusing on improving areas of concern , understanding that customer relationships and sensitivity are the highest priority
  • Work with external accountants to ensure financial results follow generally accepted accounting principles and proper internal controls are in place
  • Work in conjunction with Business Development to improve sales and profitability of the organization
Desired Education and Experience;
  • College Diploma or University Degree plus an Accounting Designation required
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution operations
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets/Excel
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to learn ERP Software packages including P21 Software knowledge
  • Able to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment  demonstrating excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Professional personal presentation with the ability to demonstrate initiative, reliability and positive team attitude
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
