POSITION:                Mix Room Supervisor
BUSINESS UNIT:      Ice Cream
LOCATION:               London Ontario Canada 401 plant
REPORTS TO:          Production Manager
 
Nestlé Canada Ice Cream has an immediate opening for a Mix Room Supervisor, to join the Production team at our state-of-the-art ice cream factory, located in London, Ontario.
 
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Mix Room Supervisor is accountable for the overall safe, reliable, efficient and cost effective management of all mix room functions during a shift.  The Mix Room Supervisor must effectively lead hourly employees to deliver superior results across all areas of the mix room.
 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Ensure strict compliance to site and corporate safety, quality and production SOPs, procedures and policies.
  • Promote and enhance a positive working environment through teamwork and high level of employee involvement.
  • Coach employees to fulfil and exceed the requirements of the job through NCE approach.
  • Communicate with other shift supervisors, team members and site management on key performance issues.
  • Effectively manage all relevant administrative processes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in NCE and Total Performance Management activities, pillar and work groups as needed and other duties as assigned.
  • Understanding of the critical products processes, suppliers and materials for the department.
  • Ensure alignment of equipment operation and installations in coordination with quality, engineering & administration requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of product costing and variance control
Qualifications:
  • Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Solid understanding of operations, quality assurance and safety regulations are required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with NCE/Total Performance Management an asset.
  • Positive working experience within a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to think broadly, take initiative, and provide solutions when faced with challenges.
  • Computer Skill – solid understanding of Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Knowledge of SAP, and KRONOS a definite asset.
