Accounting & Accounts Receivable Analyst
 

Job Purpose:
The Accounting & Accounts Receivable Analyst is a key member of the Finance team responsible for the processing of accounts receivable, completion of account reconciliations and journal entries and acts as support and backup for other members of the team. The position will be relied upon to complete various projects and other initiatives within the department.
 
Duties and Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable:
  • Interacting with customer accounts payable and Marwood sales department to resolve invoicing issues and customer deductions
  • Interacting with other Marwood departments i.e. Quality and Logistics to resolve quality/cost issues
  • Manual invoicing of non-standard sales within ERP system
  • Maintaining relationships with customer accounts payable contacts to ensure timely and orderly receipt of payments to meet Marwoods cash flow requirements
 
General Accounting:
  • Completion of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Tracking of all costing projects associated with tooling, engineering changes, prototypes and shipments
  • Responsible for daily cash flow monitoring and monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Monthly reporting to financial institutions
  • Preparation of weekly management reporting on plant efficiencies
  • Interact with external auditors to respond to various requests in a timely manner
  • Back-up for other members of department (AP, Cost Accounting) to cover vacations etc.
  • Various projects and initiatives as assigned
 
Minimum Education / Training Required
  • Pursuit of an accounting designation is desired but consideration will be given to those with relevant work experience
  • Preference will be given to those with a post-secondary education in either business or finance
  • Automotive industry experience and understanding of customer systems i.e. Covisint, SAP, ROL, etc. would be asset but not required
  • Understanding of organizational responsibilities, can work with various departments to accomplish needed results
  • Maintain personal integrity; conform to all applicable laws, regulations and policies.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work well with all levels of personnel
  • An excellent command of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software
  • Must be able to listen to employees and understand and help resolve problems
