Job Description

Our client, a large defense manufacturer in LONDON, ONTARIO is looking for a contract Product Design Assurance
associate to join their team

Required Qualifications
• University Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
• Minimum 2-5 years of engineering experience
• Knowledge of verification methods and quality assurance provisioning
• Ability to read, interpret, and critique Engineering and vendor drawings
• An understanding of the general concepts of quality systems, defect detection, defect analysis and
reporting
• Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation)
• Effective planning, analytical and negotiation skills
• Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US and Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid
passport
• Proficient skills in use of Lotus Notes and MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point

Preferred Qualifications
• Product Assurance experience
• Familiarity with TIPQA, Team Center, and DOORS applications
• Knowledge and/or experience in the creation of QAPs
• Knowledge of automotive design

Job Responsibilities
• Support Subcontract SOW, DID, and Technical Specification Development
• Support design verification and reporting activities:
• review and determine acceptance of qualification test plans
• obtain and document objective evidence of design requirement compliance
• coordinate inspection activities for critical components as required
• review and approve vendor verification plans and
• Interface with Project Engineering and subject matter experts, to ensure vendor requirements have been
suitably verified.
• Develop and maintain Quality Assurance Provisions (QAPs)
• Apply Quality Clauses, obtain verification data and determine acceptance of prototype part procurements
• Disposition discrepant material that has been quarantined during prototype builds
• Develop and support ED&T Project Quality Plans
• Participate in RFP reviews (as required)
• Complete BOEs, WCRs, SCRs in support of Engineering programs
• Liaise with the production Product Assurance (PA) organization to ensure a whole system approach to
verification.

Candidates who are registered with PEO or are actively pursuing their P.Eng designation would be preferred, but
not required.
