Job Description

Thames Valley Children's Centre is the regional rehabilitation Centre serving children and youth with physical disabilities, communication, and developmental needs in 10 counties of Southwestern Ontario. We are a community-oriented Centre providing assessment, diagnosis, consultation and therapy. We serve more than 7,000 children, ranging from newborn to young adults, every year. Our research, creativity and innovations have made us pioneers in the treatment and management of disabilities and special needs.
  
We are currently recruiting for a full-time (37.5 hours per week), regular Cleaner to work Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 10:00pm, in Facility Resources.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition appropriate for a healthcare facility.
  • Implement cleaning processes for disinfection and for preventing cross-contamination.
  • Fulfil daily, weekly and periodic cleaning responsibilities; schedule tasks appropriately to ensure completion.
  • Understand and implement infection control procedures, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
  • Abide by health and safety requirements for the position and complete required training.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Preference will be given to candidates possessing a minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with janitorial work is required, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Previous experience working with WHMIS products and disinfectants.
  • Possess the ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and able to cooperate in a team environment.
