Job Title: PLC Programmer/Electrical Technologist
Location: Woodstock Ontario, Canada
Company: Hyd-Mech Group Limited is internationally recognized as a world leader in the design and manufacture of heavy-duty metal cutting bandsaws and material handling solutions.
Summary: The PLC programmer/electrical technologist is responsible for programming and supporting our proprietary machine controller TS50 and Mitsubishi PLC. Collaborating with other engineers, both local and international, you will maintain hardware and software control systems for the Company’s metal cutting saws. Demanding customer service, both internal and external, will be required as you help Hyd-Mech maintain its position as market leader in the metal cutting field.

Qualifications:
Education - Post-secondary degree/College diploma in programming
Experience - 3-5 years relevant experience
Preferred - Experience in machine programming
Knowledge of metal fabrication equipment industry
Travel - United States and European travel will be required

Machine Programming -
- Develop and program new features for our Windows CE based PLC controller
- Maintain and improve existing programs for over 25 saw models
- Develop and program complex operations involving our saw and in-house material handling systems
VFD & Servo drives
- Utilize new capabilities/features of VFD and Servo drives
- Synchronize our saw with in-house and 3rd party power conveyors
- Champion servo drives capabilities as it relates to sawing & material handling automation
Customer Service -
- Regular dialogue with in-house service technicians to resolve customers’ problems
- Assist procurement with global sourcing of components
- Assist production with electrical/PLC/wiring issues
Other -
- Provide support to the development and maintenance of product manuals
- Integrate the department’s programming/PLC/electrical activities with our parent Company's engineering activities
- Experience in SAP/B1, Solidworks
Skills:
- Working knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming language
- Proficient in Ladder programming, C++ and Function Block Diagram
- Working knowledge of Mitsubishi PLC product
- Extensive knowledge of Windows CE environment
- Understanding of VFD, Servo and Stepper drives application
Qualifications:
