Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Salvation Army Centre Of Hope Office Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to members of the management team and providing customer service to public with mental health and addictions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 year degree or diploma in business administration, and or social services
Minimum 1 year related experience in social services, and or business administration environment
Skilled in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) and the ability to share this with others
Demonstrated experience with web design and maintenance is an asset
Flair for desktop publishing software and experience with page layout and graphics techniques
Proficient in office procedures (telephone, photocopier, scanner, fax machine, room booking, etc.)
Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with the public, both in person and on the telephone
Ability to take detailed minutes, with strong attention to detail and type 80WPM with accuracy
Effective multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment, with proven attention to detail and aptitude for accuracy and thoroughness
Demonstrates strong organizational, prioritizing and time management skills to effectively handle multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines with minimal supervision
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Other duties as required such as ordering office supplies, and organizing couriers
Ability to lift 40lbs
An understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army
First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
An original copy of a Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. The screening is secured either through the national Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or a local police detachment.
