Neighbourhood Project Coordinator
for Healthy Eating/Healthy Physical Activity (HEHPA) Priority of London’s Child and Youth Network (CYN)

Investing in Children, a London based not-for-profit working to create unique opportunities for children and families, is hiring a Neighbourhood Project Coordinator on behalf of London’s Child and Youth Network (CYN) to support work in neighbourhoods promoting healthy physical activity, healthy eating and healthy sleep behaviours for children, youth and families.

Reporting to the CYN’s HEHPA Project Manager, the HEHPA Neighbourhood Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting all aspects of HEHPA’s work – including resident driven initiatives – in various London neighbourhoods.

The HEHPA Neighbourhood Project Coordinator will contribute to the CYN vision “Happy, healthy children and youth today; caring, creative responsible adults tomorrow” by supporting and implementing CYN and HEHPA priority group strategies designed to “lead the nation in increasing healthy eating and healthy physical activity.”
 
This will be achieved by:

  • Supporting HEHPA priority group neighbourhood-based strategic and tactical planning
  • Supporting HEHPA members in implementing projects and activities by providing project management skills and facilitation
  • Supporting implementation of HEHPA’s “Create healthy, active neighbourhoods” initiatives
  • Supporting and facilitating meetings of HEHPA and HEHPA sub-groups
  • Developing and managing strong partnerships and collaborations on behalf of HEHPA
  • Contributing to the branding and promotion of CYN/HEHPA products, activities and initiatives
  • Supporting and organizing HEHPA events as well as events of the CYN as required
  • Prepare and manage necessary HEHPA reports, contracts and documentation
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree related to Social Sciences, Recreation, Communications or related area(s)
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Experience in project management, including budget development and management
  • Vulnerable persons Police Record Screening
  • Working familiarity with standard software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, project management software)
