As a leader in community inclusion of individuals with developmental, medical, and/or complex physical needs, PHSS supports individuals with developmental, medical, and/or complex physical needs to live in their own homes and participate in community with family and friends.
Based in London, Ontario, PHSS supports more than 200 individuals in more than 60 locations across Ontario, providing 24-hour residential supports, day and overnight respite, specialized complex medical care and intensive behavioural supports, recreational programs, and support for individuals living at home with their families. By offering home-based supports, PHSS provides an alternative to institutional care by reducing the pressure on hospitals and institutions and in many cases, substantially reduce the cost of care.
Working in partnership with Prime Management Group Inc., PHSS is now actively seeking a highly resourceful, organized, and analytical Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join their growing, dynamic, and innovative organization.
The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for 600+ employees; reviewing and ensuring accuracy of approved timesheets; and tracking and deducting all garnishments and other payroll deductions. Additionally, this adaptable and collaborative Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will effectively communicate with other departments surrounding payroll to ensure proper collection of employee data as well as preparing and distributing required reports. The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will also manage employee records with accuracy and timeliness while resolving any payroll discrepancies. Furthermore, the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will also manage employee benefit plans – all enrolments, eligibility, and associated changes – while collaborating with the accounting department for payments and deductions of employee paid benefit premiums.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in Payroll or Human Resources coupled with demonstrated experience performing all payroll and payroll-related functions. This includes experience with employee benefits administration, managing the flow of transactions in an automated payroll system, and using relevant software such as ADP Workforce Now or SAGE, and MS Office programs. A Canadian Payroll Association certification will be considered a definite asset. The successful candidate will have proven experience working with a high level of attention to detail and prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
