Job Description
Mission Store – Summer Student Contract Jobs
The Mission Store of Mission Services of London has two openings for a 9-week summer student contract position as Warehouse Sorter, and one opening for a 9-week summer student contract position as Cashier/Clerk.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To work alongside store staff and volunteers with the goal of providing both a strong customer experience and client experience for those who come to the store for its retail offerings and service programs.
Qualifications (as stated by Service Canada; Canada Summer Jobs):
- You must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- You must be registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year
- You intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year
- You are a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
- You are legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
- * Foreign students are not eligible
Additional Requirements:
- Dependable with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work alone making good judgment calls based on the organization’s values
- A good listener, communicator and team player
- Sensitive to the life circumstances of clients
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Position Details:
- Salary: $11.25/hour
- 30 hours per week (flexible daytime hours Monday to Friday)
- Contract to run for 9 weeks from start date (to be negotiated)
