The Municipality of Central Elgin is a progressive, growing urban and rural municipality located on the north shore of Lake Erie in the heart of southwestern Ontario adjacent to London and St. Thomas.  The Municipality is a major tourist destination in Southwestern Ontario given it’s multitude of public beaches, sports fields, community, and area parks. 
 
The Municipality is currently seeking to fill 2-3 seasonal full time positions for the Green Team (Seasonal Parks Workers).  The positions are for 40 hours per week from mid May to early September 2017.
 
Parks Green Team
 
Reporting to the Parks and Recreation Superintendent, Green Team Staff are responsible for the day to day maintenance of municipally owned parks and beaches.  Duties include planting and weeding of flower beds and planters, watering, garbage and litter pickup, minor grass cutting and trimming, construction of landscape amenities, and cleaning of public washrooms and spaces.
 
Desired qualifications:

• Able to work as contributing member in a team environment
• Good physical condition
• Experience in horticulture and/or landscaping would be considered an asset.
• G2 drivers license
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Returning to school in September of 2017.

 
The 2017 Rate of Pay is $12.83 (under review)
