Quality Assurance Manager

On behalf of our client located in Ingersoll we are currently sourcing for a Quality Manager to support the Management team, the role has become available due to someone moving up in the company. Active supporter of lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities, our client supports the Automotive Industry for OEM clients creating parts for Car Body, Chassis, Exterior and Interior as well as Powertrain.

Working hours: 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday

Primary functions of this role is to Coordinate Quality Assurance department activities and identify needs; assist Commercial department in Quality planning and represents company as its communication liaison with customers and subcontractors in all matters regarding Quality issues and Advance Quality Planning. Coordinate all aspects of the Quality Department / Laboratory, maintaining Quality Assurance practices/ procedures in accordance with the documented quality system, overseeing the work of the Quality Assurance department on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a Post-Secondary Education in a related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 year Management OR Supervisory experience
  • Well versed in ISO/TS and active participant in APQP Standards
  • Motivated/Independent worker to achieve sales and divisional/corporate goals in a timely fashion is a key attribute
  • Possess excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet quality expectations
  • Strong computer skills and flexibility for Travel as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and performance of all quality / lab activities
  • Determine proper control for all of the inspection and testing metrology in the quality system to assure calibration, accuracy, performance and reliability of all QA/Lab equipment and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop implement and maintain Quality System in accordance with standards
  • Assist commercial department in subcontractor’s selection by qualifying subcontractors
  • Conduct internal training or arrange outside training for QA department employees
  • Provide assistance in resolving customer and/or subcontractor conflicts
  • Handles and distributes all applicable customer communication regarding requirements, complaints, quality scores etc.
  • Assures that the quality system is updated with all relevant information as specified
  • Represent the company as liaison to customers and subcontractors in all quality matters
  • Documenting customer’s requirement to the subcontractors in all quality matters
  • Documenting corrective and preventative actions, resolving issues with customers
