Computer Modeling and Simulation
Our client, a large defense manufacturer in LONDON, ONTARIO is looking for a contract Computer Modeling and Simulation contractor to join their team
Required Qualifications
• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Min 2 years of relevant experience in computer modeling and simulation field
• Familiar with ADAMS, NX NASTRAN, MATLAB/Simulink
• Knowledge of automotive and off-road vehicle design
• Knowledge of automotive controls systems
• Knowledge of fatigue/durability analysis
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, shock and vibration, controls systems, structural analysis, fatigue analysis, thermal and fluid flow analysis
• Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of automotive HVAC systems and engine cooling systems
• Specialization in fatigue/durability field, experience with fatigue analysis and testing, extensive knowledge of advanced fatigue theory
Job Responsibilities
• Perform advanced computer simulations of military vehicles and subsystems
• Conduct research of new simulation techniques applicable to company products
• Perform vehicle dynamics simulations using ADAMS
• Perform structural analysis using NX NASTRAN
• Create advanced MATLAB/Simulink models to evaluate various controls algorithms and strategies for automotive systems
• Perform fluid flow analysis using FLUENT
• Perform fatigue/durability analysis
• Perform shock and vibration test data analysis using Glyphworks
• Model electromechanical devices and research automotive electrification field
• Write technical reports; prepare technical information to support bid and proposal activities
• Provide support for R&D validation testing (i.e. prepare test plan/report, perform data reduction/analysis, participate in testing at test sites)
• Research new automotive technologies and evaluate their applicability to company products
• Support new product development with simulations and analyses
Due to the nature of the position, successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, including, but not limited to, the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance to secret level.
