Human Resources Assistant

Working up to 24 hours per week in this part-time contract opportunity, you will use your initiative, efficiency and exemplary interpersonal and administrative skills, as well as your HRIS experience, to support the Human Resources Department and its clients.

Your key duties and responsibilities as an HR Assistant will include:
  • Greeting Human Resources visitors and callers, answering questions, and providing information
  • Assisting in the coordination and delivery of corporate recognition programs / functions and charity events, and in the delivery of employee orientation activities
  • Ensuring consistency and confidentiality in recordkeeping, and maintaining all electronic and paper files
  • Assisting in the maintenance of employee records in the HRIS
  • Researching, analyzing and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence
  • Scheduling meetings, appointments, travel, accommodation and reservations
  • Attending and recording minutes at meetings requiring a high degree of confidentiality
  • Assisting in departmental expense and invoice tracking
  • Performing various administrative duties for the Human Resources Department

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

As a qualified Human Resources Assistant, you are able to meet the following requirements:
  • Community college diploma in Human Resources or a related field
  • Proficiency using personal computers with the appropriate software packages, including excellent Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent keyboarding, writing, interpersonal and organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy
  • Experience recording meeting minutes, and preparing and organizing data
  • Ability and initiative to work on your own and under pressure
  • Experience working with an HRIS (Human Resource Information System)
