Boler Mountain is Southwestern Ontario’s most dynamic destination for outdoor adventure! This year
round facility offers skiing and tubing in the Winter and Mountain Biking and a treetop adventure park in
the summer! Located in West London, Boler Mountain is a not for profit organization whose mission is
to provide year round experiences for guests of all ages and abilities to enjoy extraordinary fun and
excitement.
 
In November 2017, Boler Mountain will open a brand new chalet, which is currently being built.  In
addition to it’s  core recreational service offerings, Boler Mountain will now host corporate gatherings,
weddings and other special events.  This exciting growth means the Boler team is growing as well and
now has a need for a full time Group Sales Coordinator to support the current and growing group sales
needs.  
 
Position:             
The Group Sales Coordinator is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, implementation and oversight of corporate groups and Weddings as well as large private hall rentals at Boler Mountain.  Working within the Customer Service team, the Group Sales Coordinator will act as a support person to Group visits as needed. During the early growth of this position they will also oversee and work with the front of house food and beverage staff during any events. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Business Development – Increase awareness and promotion of Boler as a preferred venue for Corporate Meetings and Events while cross promoting other programming.  Attend local events and shows to promote Boler Mountain as both a corporate outing venue and a banquet hall venue. Continuously look for opportunity to grow our Group Sales business and generate new leads
  • Lead group booking process from beginning to end by continuously communicating with various departments and group guest contact, acting as key point person for each group visit.
  • Oversee all details of corporate group visit including room bookings, table reservations, food orders, and lift ticket orders, tubing arrangements, tree top reservations as well as obtaining and sharing lesson requirements.
  • Work closely with Management Team to provide input and feedback  on annual group sales, marketing and communication plans, assist with product design/packages
  • Work with groups to customize packages to suit a group’s needs.
  • Perform prompt follow up of leads and inquiries and ongoing communications with group contacts.
  • Maintain database with group contact information.
  • Update master event calendar with group run sheets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with group contacts.
  • Follow up with group contacts after visit to obtain feedback and secure future bookings.
  • Billing of group invoices, follow up as required to secure payment.
  • Contribute to the total effectiveness of Boler Mountain operations, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.
  • Takes immediate action to answer all questions or respond to comments or complaints.
  • Performs other Boler related duties as required.
 
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
  • An effective communicator with above average organizational skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the sales, marketing or hospitality industries, ski resort area experience considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and within a group environment.
  • Self-starter, the ability to recognize potential leads for group sales.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships.
  • The ability to deal with any situation at any time with a positive outcome for all involved.
  • Fantastic customer service skills and high expectations for quality.
  • Demonstrated high energy level and flexibility, pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment: flexible, discreet and able to maintain confidential information, knowledge of correct protocol for specific situations.
  • Good time management skills with ability to maintain focus while multi-tasking within a fast paced environment.
  • Effective computer skills including knowledge of all windows based applications including Office, Publisher, Outlook. 
  • Strong social media skills
