Marketing & Product Specialist – New Product Development and Product Life-Cycle
 
On behalf of our client, in St. Thomas, ON, we are currently seeking a Marketing & Product Specialist – Repair Parts to assist with New Product Development and Product Life-Cycle. The Product Specialist assists with strategic planning and execution of defined roadmap initiatives for Wholesale and Retail channels. 
 
Reporting to the Repair Parts (RP) Product Manager, the Repair Parts Product Specialist is responsible for assisting the RP Product Manager in the development of new products, organizing necessary data/materials for product launch and maintaining the product until the end of its lifecycle.  Included in this function are product obsolescence, life-cycle analysis, forecasting, product/quality enhancements, cost reduction and profitability analysis. The RP product mix is a blend of consumer and wholesale products which require continual maintenance, innovation and market analysis.
 
Product Specialist will either own or assist with the following major NPD responsibilities:
  • Product launch strategy and implementation
  • Development of business case proposals
  • New product structure creation and coordination with other cross-functional departments
  • New product collateral proofing and photography
  • Packaging project management
  • Update and maintain specification and M&I sheets.
  • Product obsolescence
  • Pricing analysis and proofreading
  • Member of price book team
  • Member of line review team (Retail Channel)
  • Interaction with domestic and international manufacturing facilities
  • Product quality issues and correction
  • Continual analysis and maintenance of existing mix
  • Product enhancements which improve profitability
  • Analysis of new product sales versus forecast  
  • Report generation and metrics
  • Support the communication of product development/launch plans to other departments
  • Assist Brand department with product and pricing information for Marketing collateral
  • Provide internal training support – technical aspects only
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a 2 year completed Marketing Diploma or Degree or equivalent experience and education
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ project management/analysis experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in consumer goods or wholesale
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Access)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average organizational skills
  • Track record of delivering projects on-time
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Above average financial analysis ability
  • Occasional travel required
  • Must have reliable transportation for this position
Hours: Full-Time, Day shifts

Compensation: Depending upon experience.
