Steelway Building Systems is a privately owned Canadian company that manufactures steel building systems for use in industrial, commercial, agricultural, recreational and institutional applications across Canada, the northern United States and around the world. Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Technician is accountable for the following: 

• Creating manufacturing programs for all plant CNC operated equipment.
• Creating drawings for purchasing for the purchase of outsourced parts.
• Act as liaison as required between manufacturing and drafting, engineering, customer service, and purchasing
• Supporting the technical requirements of new equipment and software installations.
• Analyze electronic extraction of data from engineering software.
• Follow the guidelines set out in all Company policies and procedures.
• Ability to audit your own work
• Constantly strive to improve methods and procedures.
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned.

 

Education and Experience: 

• Post secondary education preferably in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Technology or Technician
• One to three years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
• Maintain a level of education necessary to keep pace with new manufacturing technology and company requirements.
• Knowledge of manufacturing practices associated with the position.
• Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD
• Basic understanding of 3D drafting software.
• Experience with MasterCam an asset
• Experience with ProNest an asset
