Part-time Professor – Horticulture Technician Program, School of Design (ARD 201600173)
Faculty of Arts, Media and Design
 
Location:  London
Employment Group:  Faculty
Hours of Work per Week:  3-6 hours per week
                                             Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
                                             Friday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Closing Date:  Open Until Filled
 
Note:  This is a part-time Faculty position (up to 6 hours per week) starting September 12, 2016.

The School of Design is seeking a part-time Professor to teach in the Horticulture Technician Program.
 
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
  • Remaining current in the field of study and maintain awareness of emerging trends and practices related to teaching and learning in higher education
  • Strong network of contacts with other professionals, agencies and employers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and to working within a team environment
  • A flawless safety record and the ability to function in and maintain a very professional and safe environment 
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary 2 year Diploma in Horticulture or Arboriculture
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • ISA certified or equivalent qualification
  • Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant programs
