We are currently recruiting a contract full-time Direct Care Worker staff for our therapeutic care residence located in Parkhill, ON.  This eleven (11) bed residence supports adolescent females between the ages of 12-17.  Reasons for youth placement include parent/teen conflict, school resistance, mental health issues, and/or conflict with the law.  Successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects of youth work as it relates to a residential facility.  Shifts include evenings and weekends.
           
Qualifications:

• Demonstrated understanding of youth behaviour and the Youth Service System
• Able to establish therapeutic relationships on the basis of respect and trust
• Solid organizational, communication and problem solving skills; attention to detail

• Willingness to promote our Corporate philosophy
• Ability and willingness to lead youth through a process of self-evaluation and goal setting consistent with Cognitive Behaviour Theory and Lead Management
• Ability to write clear, concise observations of youth behaviour
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both written and oral
• Ability to use sound judgment and make independent decisions based on Policies & Procedures
• Proven computer skills, Microsoft Office preferred
• A valid Ontario (G) Driver’s Licence, current Police Records Check & Vulnerable Position Screening, Standard First Aid & CPR, PMAB Certificate

• Post Secondary education in a related field
• Prefer a minimum of two (2) years experience in a youth residential setting

Starting Wage:           $21.89 per hour plus benefits
