Shipping Clerk                                                                       

 
POSITION SUMMARY:
Loading and receiving of shipments. Tracking shipments. Maintaining warehouse and main facility, keeping fire exits accessible and neat organized storage of rental and client inventory.
 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Result Area Task
Receiving and Verify Shipments
Inbound/Outbound
  • Physically verify contents of shipments as received and sent
  • Completing applicable paperwork
  • Inspecting shipments for damages or shortages
  • Receive and cross check with PO’s incoming sub-contracted materials – turn in paperwork to purchasing
  • Load and unload shipments
  • Put exhibit properties onto warehouse racking
  • Return rental materials to inventory and log missing items
  • Organizing and maintaining computerized inventory at main facility and warehouse
Maintain Records
  • Keeping logs and schedules current
  • Filing reports for traffic movements of company
  • Recording purchase orders as received
  • Regularly update online dockets with shipping information
  • Regularly update warehouse inventory with current client inventory and rental inventory
  • Calculate and organize client storage invoicing
  • Work to photograph and inventory all elements within warehouse in online inventory
Arrange Transportation
  • Coordinating transportation needs for shipping area for common carriers, overnight couriers and same day couriers
  • Monitoring transportation of shipments for tracking purposes daily
   
Maintain Communication
  • Communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
  • Keeping the Fabrication Manager informed
Maintain Safe Work Environment
  • Complying with company health and safety procedures
Contribute to Team
  • Reporting to Fabrication Manager
  • Taking and implementing directions of Fabrication Manager
  • Supporting Fabrication Manager through back-up in procedures
 
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to details and accuracy
  • Keyboarding skills for typing and terminals
  • Experience working with computers including MS Office
  • Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record in good standing
  • Forklift training, and aerial lift experience would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and service orientation
  • Completion of secondary school or post secondary training in warehousing and inventory control with 1 – 3 years relevant experience
