Reports directly to Vice President Retirement Living on all matters related to care and service processes of Retirement Living at our Sifton Head Office. The role will be a presence at each location, monitoring/ auditing and ensuring our resident service programs are well integrated and practiced to exceed the customer expectations, ORCA guidelines, RHRA regulations and professional standards.

Responsibilities Include:

• The coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluating of division wide Medecare electronic care planning program and quality documentation processes.
• Standardization of RHRA compliance action plans in conjunction with Regional Quality and Education Manager (RQEM) , ROM, and on site Management team.
• The development, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluating of division wide care standards/ policies & regulations, documentation and nursing processes under the RHRA and College of Nurses of Ontario. Includes best practice committee leadership.
• Act as a resource for Residences in matters regarding clinical applications such as resident care such as wound care, incontinence care, restraints, new practice and policy development, best practice initiatives, first aid training etc. and associated contracted service providers and assist with recruitment and orientation of Wellness teams.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Current BScN, or equivalent related experience and qualifications and registered with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• A sound knowledge of Retirement Homes Act and College of Nurses standards of practice.
• Advanced knowledge of client care services, dementia care, assessments, documentation and all other practice standards.
• Previous management and work related experience is necessary.
• Strong interpersonal skills, seeking and validating information and utilizing leadership skills to foster care excellence and continuous improvement in resident/ family relationships as well throughout each sites’ team membership.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication, Microsoft Office & Excel computer skills.
• Proficiency in computerized care planning and E Mar systems.
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed, available for on-call and to work flexible hours in multiple locations
• Valid drivers’ license and dependable vehicle.
