Job Description

ConnexOntario Health Information Services is a not-for-profit charitable organization that works with various sectors of the Ontario health care system in the collection and provision of information and in the creation of innovative data solutions.  We are currently seeking a full-time Supervisor, Finance and Support Services.  Comprehensive salary and benefits offered.
 
Reporting to the Director, Administrative Services, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
 
  • Supervising staff who are responsible for (i) providing administrative support to the organization and (ii) disseminating marketing materials
  • Hands on, full-cycle completion of the in-house bi-weekly payroll process including the reconciliation and preparation of remittances and returns, e.g. T4’s, WSIB, EHT, source deduction remittances, etc.
  • Performing a variety of accounting related tasks including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, bank deposits, bank reconciliations, month-end routines and recording time earned/off for all staff
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Taking a lead role  in the annual budget process and quarterly variance analyses
  • Preparation, analyses  and presentation of a variety of financial and operating statements
  • Meeting funders’ financial and statistical reporting requirements
  • Supporting external auditor during annual audit process
  • Participating in the quote process
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Currently enrolled in an accounting designation program (CMA or CGA) at the 2nd or 3rd level,  or equivalent experience
  • Certified as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) from the Canadian Payroll Association
  • Excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll practices and procedures;
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position supervising staff
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent knowledge of Sage/Accpac ERP accounting and payroll software or similar
  • Customer focused and a professional, friendly manner
  • Strong organizational and communicative skills
  • Detail oriented and an ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Enthusiastic, dependable and self-motivated;
