Working within our esteemed Advisory department the successful candidate will be required to draw upon their vast HR knowledge and experience to deliver sound and qualified guidance to our membership base on a wide variety of HR-related questions and workplace issues. Primary Responsibilities

Working as part of HRdownloads’ in-house Advisory Team, the HR Advisor is responsible for the following: 
  • Receive calls from HRdownloads’ clients located across Canada; providing on-demand advice and answers to all HR-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Specifically advise on a wide range of HR topics including, but not limited to: compensation, training and development, progressive discipline, terminations, employee relations, labour relations, recruitment and selection, performance management, attendance, disability management, etc.
  • Provide provincially and federally-specific guidance, advice and interpretation of various HR-related legislation and regulations including Employment/ Labour Standards, Occupational Health and Safety, Human Rights, Workers’ Compensation and new/ changing legislation.
  • Direct and/or provide clients with appropriate HRdownloads-created or external resources to aid in client satisfaction, comprehension and effective resolution to the expressed concern or inquiry.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and foster client engagement with the company on each call.  
  • Accurately record and document all call details and input into the company’s CRM.
  • Support and act as a subject matter expert on various collaborative interdepartmental projects, advising on and reviewing HR-related content for relevance and accuracy as well as hosting webinars on key HR topics.
  • Remain well-informed of all current and emerging HR-related legislation, regulations and best practices.
 
Education and Experience

To effectively meet the needs of HRdownloads’ extensive and varied client base, our ideal candidate should consider themselves to be a Human Resources subject matter expert and possess the following:
 
  • A degree or Diploma in Human Resources or another related field.
  • A Bachelor of Business Administration or Commerce, or other related area of study.
  • CHRP designation considered an asset. (All candidates must possesses requisite experience and be willing to obtain the CHRP designation.)
  • A CRSP or other health and safety designation considered an asset.
  • 10 years’ progressive Human Resources generalist experience with at least 4 of those years in a HR Management role that includes: hiring, firing, promoting, and implementing HR practices.
  • Experience working in a variety of industries is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing HR strategy directly, and positively impacting business objectives.
  • Cross-provincial Human Resources Management experience is considered an asset.
  • Extensive experience developing, implementing, maintaining and advising on all primary human resources functions.
  • Extensive and in-depth understanding of all HR-related legislation and regulations including interpretation and application.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to build lasting and trusting relationships.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Strong research abilities to stay atop of new and emerging legislation and Human Resources best practices.
Compensation is based upon a competitive salary plus full benefits upon successful completion of the probationary period.
