Who are we?

Big Viking Games sailed into action in 2011, set on taking the social and mobile gaming world by storm. In three short years, we’ve grown from humble beginnings in London, ON to over 65 Vikings and a second studio in Toronto, ON. In order to create high-quality games that attract passionate fans, we knew we’d need passionate Vikings. We’ve worked hard to create a culture and space that any Viking would be proud to call their home away from home. And it shows. This year we’ve had the pleasure of being recognized as one of Globe & Mail’s Top 100 Employers for 2014 as well as Top 50 Employers for Young People just to name a few - we don't want to brag. 

The nitty-gritty:

That’s where you come in. We’re growing fast. But tracking down the perfect Vikings is no easy task. We’re searching for the right Recruitment & HR Specialist to work out of our London, ON studio. You have a proven track record for planning and organization, is an analytical wizard, and is so approachable they make friends while waiting in line for coffee. Additionally, you’ve got a knack for reading between the lines, and can spot potential and talent in the deepest, darkest corners of the world. The Duties:

• Full Cycle Recruitment: From research, recruiting (includes outbound), interviewing, and hiring through to the post-hiring process of new Vikings. You’ll make sure every new Viking is primed and ready to tackle their role.
• With a keen eye for talent you’ll seek out aspiring Vikings by running co-op student and internship programs, and attending career and job fairs.
• You’ll also manage the LMO and Foreign Employee Relocation processes to make sure no stone is unturned in the search for the perfect Vikings.
• Facilitate the perks & benefits program to ensure the needs of the Big Viking team are always taken care of.
• Run a tight ship by maintaining accurate records of all employees and appropriate documentation of all interviewees. You’ve got an attention to detail that puts “Where’s Waldo” books to shame.
• Keep up to date on industry recruitment techniques and continually innovate the Viking hiring process.

The Essentials:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in HR, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of HR experience
• 1+ years of Recruitment experience (even better if it’s in the technology sector)
• Expert knowledge and experience with talent sourcing strategies. When it comes to finding the right candidate, you’re just waiting for us to say “GO!”
• You’re a master of written and oral communication
• You’ve got a demonstrated history of excellent judgment and confidentiality. Discretion is your middle name. Maybe even your first name
• Proven ability to multi-task and perform under pressure. After all, pressure makes diamonds!

• You blog, tweet, pin and post and know how to leverage Social Media to source new talent.
• You have previously recruited the best of the best in the tech industry
• You will take pride in providing our Vikings with a space and culture that gets them excited to wake up every morning to do what they do best.
