Job Description
On behalf of our client in London, ON, we are recruiting for a Cash Application Specialist on a full time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Develop strong working relationships with regional departments to ensure alignment of outstanding balances and payment expectations
- Identify departures from best practices and follow up with profit centre teammates as an opportunity to increase efficiencies
- Implement a proactive approach to prevent inefficiencies within the purchases and payments process
- Apply payments to customer accounts and balance suspense general ledger account daily
- Reconcile customer accounts and assist with account adjustments as required
- Prepare, reconcile and deposit cheque and cash deposits daily
- Provide service to multiple locations nationally
- Research bank reconciliation discrepancies
- Other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of a University Degree or 2 year College Dipoma in Accounting or related field
- 1-2 years of previous accounting experience
- Strong customer service orientation
- Professionalism and strong communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities and a sense of urgency
- Ability to develop a high level of trust and respect from internal customers
- Must be able to work well in a team environment
- Positive attitude and high energy level
- Ability to identify key issues and opportunities for improvement
- Bilingual communication is considered an asset
