Cook’s Helper – Summer Student
 
The Men’s Mission & Rehabilitation Centre of Mission Services of London has an opening for a an 8-week contract position. This position will work under the supervision of the Food Services Supervisor.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Food preparation, which may involve desserts, snacks, salad bar
• Washing and storage of kitchen dishes, utensils and cookware using both automated and hand operated dishwashing systems
• Cleaning kitchen surfaces and floors
• Collection and disposal of kitchen and dining area related waste/recyclables

 
Qualifications (as stated by Service Canada; Canada Summer Jobs):

• You must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
• You must be registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year
• You intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year
• You are a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
• You are legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
• * foreign students are not eligible

 
Position Details:

• Salary $ 11.25/hour
• 30 hours per week
• Contract for 8 weeks from start date (to be negotiated)
