Role overview:
As the successful incumbent, you will plan, steer and oversee equipment and building related projects from inception to completion while continuously reviewing all technical aspects of the processing departments, warehouse and building utility areas with a view to ensure they are readily available, improving efficiencies, asset utilization and reducing costs
  • You will be responsible for planning and technical realization of machinery and manufacturing methods with a focus to improve processes & increase efficiency and quality
  • Manage projects independently, beginning with on-site evaluations; preparing planning documents and profitability calculations and finally generating layouts
  • You own and are responsible for the bidding process and will plan, prepare and verify schedules to ensure projects are completed (follow up and correct deviations) and prepare project reports
  • Prepare technical specifications, requests for quotations. Evaluate tenders or quotations and propose suppliers. Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions to contractual agreements
  • Prepare, implement and evaluate tests of systems and equipment
  • As a vital part of the EMS team, you implement and maintain the EMS as per legal regulations, company requirements and ISO 14001 standards
  • Liaise collaboratively and support internal and external engineering & technical services teams
  • Oversee delivery, installation, and commissioning of projects
  • Maintain plant layouts and updates using AutoCAD
 
Education
University degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or technical degree equivalent
 
Qualifications:
  • 5 years project management work experience in food manufacturing
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial and local building codes and safety laws
  • Proficient in: Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project
  • Write reports, business correspondence, procedural manuals, and effectively present information to a variety of audiences; communicate clearly and effectively
  • Skilled in interpreting documents (charts, blueprints)
  • Demonstrate personal attributes to manage priorities, solve problems, including financial concerns, follow directions; mediate disputes
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and to draw valid conclusions
  • Must have a valid Passport and the ability to travel to facilities Worldwide
