Educational Support Technologist (MDO 201400265)
Faculty of Arts, Media and Design
 
Location:  London
Employment Group:  Support
Salary:  $29.70 per hour
Hours of Work per Week:  35
Closing Date:  November 4, 2014
 
Note:  This is a full-time position (35 hours per week). 

Duties:   Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, and in conjunction with the Chairs and Program Manager, the incumbent provides guidance, technical leadership and assistance to the professors, students and staff in the School of Design and the School of Contemporary Media for the College's Learning Management System and related learning technologies. Additionally, the incumbent will assist faculty in the design, creation, implementation, delivery and support the School's e-Learning activities and initiatives.  This includes web-enhanced learning, hybrid applications, web tools, online learning and teaching environments, etc. The incumbent will identify research and evaluate the potential of emerging learning technologies to aid the learning process. The incumbent will conduct pilot projects for new technologies with faculty and staff.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary 3 year diploma/degree in Computer Studies, Information, Media, English, Communications, Computer Science or Instructional Technology
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a post-secondary educational environment, preferably working with students and faculty
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience in technical troubleshooting and problem solving instructional design or specialized training and experience in learning technologies
  • Experience using two or more Macromedia tools such as  Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, and FrontPage, Adobe Acrobat Writer, Webpage Design and HTML knowledge
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems
  • Experience providing individual and group training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
