CoorsTek currently has an opportunity available for a talented Process Engineer. This position will be located in London, ON.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Studies and interprets work orders, engineered drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
  • Based on specifications, develops new CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to accomplish the various machining operations per the determined sequence and dimensions of the finished product.
  • Ensures that all CNC programs are created to maximize machining efficiency through optimal tool selection, tool path selection, and cutting parameters (speed and feed rates)
  • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Develops appropriate work instructions, tool lists, and set up documentation to guide operators with setup and operation of the machines
  • Modifies existing programs, work instructions and set up documentation based on engineering changes and ensures that revisions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the selection and justification of new machine tooling (standard and custom) as required for production.
  • Manages CNC program number database; ensures proven programs and associated paperwork are stored in an organized manner on the Company’s network.
 Qualifications: 
  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Emphasis in CNC Programming an asset.
  • 3-5 years of experience programming 3, 4 and 5-Axis Vertical and Horizantal CNC Mills/Lathes with Mastercam X7.
  • 5-axis lathe programming an asset.
  • Ability to program complex geometries to exacting specification and in a cost efficient manner.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to distinguish between tool types/sizes and when to apply them.
