Burcon Construction is seeking 1 to 2 General Construction Labourers with prior proven commercial and residential renovation and new build construction experience of 3 years or more. The General Construction Labourer employee we are seeking is self-motivated, reliable and can multi-task in a fast paced environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• The General Construction Labourer we seek is skilled in all of the following: use of all power tools, installation of drywall, taping an asset, acoustic ceilings, commercial store shelving and residential and commercial cabinetry and millwork, demolition
• Skilled in steel stud framing
• Skilled in flooring preparation and laying of flooring
• Excellent communication skills with customers, co-workers, vendors and sub-trades
• Capability to lift 50 lbs with regularity and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Please note:  This is a physically demanding 'hands on' construction job site position.  Not an office or estimator position.
• Must be willing to work out of town occasionally throughout Southern Ontario, competitive meal allowance and hotel accommodation provided
• Valid driver’s license required and good driving record
• Need your own hand tools, hard hat and safety boots
• Our office and workshop are NOT on a bus route therefore you need your own reliable transporation to get to our workshop by 7:30 am Monday to Friday, on western edge of City of London and County of Middlesex, in Kilworth, Ontario
• WHMIS, Fall Protection and Elevated Lift current certification or ability to successfully pass

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The General Construction Labourer operates all equipment in a safe manner and uses safe work habits. Maintains a safe and clean working environment including complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the job site, work vehicles and workshop routinely
• Communicates professionally on job site with our customers, our customers’ customers, project manager, co-workers and all sub-trades
• Work in crew environment to complete projects on time and budget as directed by site supervisor and owner/operator
• Willingness to cross train and perform the work of other job tasks when necessary.

• Use of company work vehicles from our workshop on border of west London to and from jobsites.
• Primarily, our work is daytime, week day shifts, indoors, between 40 to 44 hours/wk
• Pay in lieu of benefits after 3 months of successful employment
