Position: Project Coordinator
Unit/Department: Canadian Melanoma Research Network
Reports To: Director of CMRN
Hours of Work: 1 FTE
Status: Temporary Contract renewable
Rate of Pay: To commensurate with experience
JOB SUMMARY
The Research Project Coordinator will provide support to and coordinate all elements of the Canadian Melanoma Research Network (CRMN) Patient Registry. The vision of CMRN is to establish a network of 12 Cancer Centres across Canada with the goal to further interprofessional education, innovation and clinical research. The Research Project Coordinator will be the key point of contact and coordinate all elements of database site installation and maintenance. It is the responsibility of the Project Coordinator to: (i) communicate with all centres, (ii) assist in facilitating project status, (iii) coordinate all activities with all centres and (iv) compile and distribute materials to all centres, etc.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Masters degree in health science discipline such as Health Sciences, Health Administration, or a related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 3-5 years of related experience in a health science discipline.
- Experience in oncology.
- Experience in grant/ethics/project submission.
- Experience in statistical analysis and scientific writing.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Advanced experience managing clinical and/or health services research projects
- Comprehensive working knowledge of research and primary data collection, data transfer, data management, data presentation methodologies and hospital infrastructure
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Skilled with database development, data analysis and interpretation, and benchmarking activities
- Demonstrated initiative, ability to function independently and make sound decisions
- Superior interpersonal, written, oral and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines, adapting to changing projects and organizational needs and demands
- Systems thinker with knowledge in business process design
- Experienced with Microsoft Office applications and Statistical analysis software
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Complete database implementation at remaining Cancer Centres of the CMRN and transition into support by tracking all deliverables, and obtaining all necessary approvals, including Research Ethics Board, IT department and Contract services in a timely fashion
- Work with technical team to continuously advance the registry, resolve issues
- Coordinate all data collection and regularly provide support on on-going research and new findings
- Analyze information, complete literature searches and present outcomes, and prepare presentations for stakeholders and clinical forums
- Create a list of priority meetings for each year with requisite deadlines to be shared by all members of CMRN
- Understand how to complete literature searches
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting
- Liaise with analytics team at Pulse to ensure all required analysis for sponsors are on time
- Prepare all reports, CMRN newsletters, presentations etc. in formats suited for assignment
- Manages timelines on all projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Interact with the Scientific advisory Board and the Directors of the CMRN and the Global Melanoma Registry Network
- Work with the health care IT providers ( Pulse infoframe- technical team ) to help coordinate research for the CMRN as well as address any site related issues related to software.
- Provide training to all sites in Canada, and other parts of the continent on CMRN related activities
- Liaise with advocacy groups and key stakeholders as required.
- Advance the educational mandate of the registry for health care providers and patients
- Be prepared to undertake new responsibilities as required.
