We are recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist who is looking for HR leadership opportunity to join our team.

General Summary:  The HR Generalist processes the hourly payroll including data collection, processing, reporting, file set up / maintenance / record retention, providing payroll compliance/legislation knowledge, as well as the administration of all safety / environmental / health training records, update and maintain all in-house training presentations, tests, orientation of new hires, and associated forms / trackers
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:  

Payroll

  • Liaise regarding all payroll matters and administration
  • Produces various reports including but not limited to overtime, benefit usage, etc.
  • Processes reports, payments, etc. that are driven using payroll data (i.e. WSIB premium calculations/remits, employer health taxes, T4’s, ROE’s, RSP/DPSP, etc.)
  • Maintains the department’s HRIS spreadsheet / data base requirements including but not limited to general employee information tracking, time / attendance / E-leave and vacation entitlement tracking
  • Co-ordinates and maintains of all related records for temporary personnel including weekly preparation of hours worked
  • Processes, records maintenance, and reports associated with government funding programs including student tax credits, targeted wage subsidies, job connect programs

    Training
  • Supports and participates in the orientation of new hires
  • Creates, updates and maintains a training matrix

    Safety / Environmental
  • Administers of all safety / environmental / health training records, update and maintain all in-house training presentations, tests, and associated forms / trackers
  • Maintains statistical reporting, tracking, updating of all health, safety, and environmental records, provide reports, administration of open door reports, monthly inspections, champion CAR closure, integration of company systems
  • Audits ISO / TS, 5S/EOW program maintenance for HR Dept.
  • Maintains MOE – HWIN, Air Quality, Testing Req’ts, First Aid Program, all other legislative compliance
  • Maintains Safety / Environmental alerts, liaison with management / employees on all health, safety, environmental, ergonomic concerns for closure, processes, procedures
  • Develops in-house or external training resources/sources, conduct training or deliver presentations relating to health, safety, environmental
  • Develops and/or administers health programs – hearing conservation, health promotion program, 
    Requisitions, sources, and follows up of all required safety / environmental program purchases, services, and cheque book costs for same
  • Sits as the Management Co-Chair JHSC, Excellence in Mfg. Safety Consortium Group champion, WSIB Best In Class meetings
  • Maintains MSDS (including outside emergency services), expiry review,
  • Ensures compliance to HS&E regulations for inspections, drills, re-certifications, etc.
Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience required
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Human Resources
  • Clear understanding and respect of confidentiality
  • Availability for overtime or alternate shifts as required to ensure smooth running of services
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Ability to travel to the U.S.A.
