Reliability and Maintainability Engineer

Our client, a large defense manufacturer in LONDON, ONTARIO is looking for a contract Reliability and Maintainability Engineer to join their team

Required Qualifications
• University Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
• 2 years of engineering experience
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings (electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics)
• Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation)
• Effective planning, analytical and negotiation skills
• Ability to travel (5% Canadian and 5% US and International) and possess/able to acquire and maintain a valid passport

Preferred Qualifications
• System integration experience
• Familiarity with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis techniques
• Knowledge and/or experience in the application of relevant military standards, military equipment usage and doctrine.
• Professional Engineer and/or Certified Reliability Engineer

Job Responsibilities
• Assess system, sub-system and component designs used or proposed for use on the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) Family of Vehicles, with respect to Reliability and Maintainability requirements
• Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on proposed vehicle concept designs
• Create and quantifiably analyze reliability and functional block diagrams that reflect the proposed design
• Identify the optimum component repair policy by performing Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA)
• Proactively work with design engineering to ensure Reliability and Maintainability issues are raised and addressed during the design phase
• Prepare material and present at design reviews, and logistics engineering assessment reviews
• Analyze test and field data, for input into design trade-offs and in support of fielded fleets.

Candidates who are registered with PEO or are actively pursuing their P.Eng designation would be preferred, but not required.
