Job Description

We are looking for a Full-time/Permanent LAN ADMINISTRATOR

Responsibilities/Functions:

• Support Help Desk Team with onsite technical and client service issues.

• Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks, wide area networks, computer work stations, peripheral equipment and connections to the company network.

• Install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.

• Diagnose hardware and related software problems and replace defective components.

• Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with computer equipment and software.

• Request and manage all orders for company desktop/laptop requests, including software and peripherals, through company portals.

• Build and image new workstations, re-image as required.

• Provide problem solving services to local network and remote users.

• Communicate electronically and in person with computer users experiencing difficulties to determine and document problems experienced.

• Develop and expand on company documentation, user guides, technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions.

• Document work continuously at all times in company ticketing system.

• Backup System Administrator when needed.

 

Knowledge/Skills:

• Technical degree or diploma and/or equivalent business experience.

• 3+ years of combined Helpdesk/IS Support and IT experience.

• 3+ years of customer support experience.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7/10, Office 2010/13/16, & Windows Server 2008 R2.

• Strong Understanding of LAN/ WAN, wireless networking & cabling.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and work as a 'team'

• Willing to work off hours.

• Ability to work under stress during peak workload period.

• Industry certificates; (i.e. CCNA, MCP, .NET, Java, C, C++, A+, N+, Server+, HDI & ITIL, etc.) considered an asset.
