Job Description
KML Windows, a division of Andersen Corporation, is currently seeking a Cost Accountant at our Strathroy, ON, Canada location.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Costing

Provide accurate costs for manufactured products

Interact with different departments including production associates on various projects as assigned

Sort information into a logical and useful format using complex Excel formulas

Provide support to business projects
-
Update and maintain costing files for several manufactured productsPhysical Inventory
-
Work with assigned plant personnel through the inventory process to ensure that all the necessary inventory processes and procedures are completed
-
Assist with physical inventory results analysis and any corresponding inventory gain or loss
-
Liaison with other functional areas to ensure all issues are being addressed in a timely manner
-
Update Physical Inventory costing files and ensure they are maintained on a regular basisProduct Life Cycle Management Process (PLM’s)

Participate in the PLM project team for assigned support area

Provide direction to the PLM team related to data, costing and inventory changes

Perform PLM Cost and Inventory Accounting stepsPeriod Close
-
Completion of period end material consumption model to ensure all material costs are accounted for
-
Review results of material consumption adjustments and inventory balances at period end with delivery partners

Perform Sales and product line profitability analysisProjects
-
Identify and highlight operational savings opportunities and assist in related projects

Assist the Finance Department in special projects as required

Other Duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience - 3-5 Years Costing related experience
- CPA designation preferred
- Understanding of cost and inventory systems an asset
- Understanding of Cost and Management Accounting
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Analytical skills that enable the interpretation of financial data

- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task several projects at once
- Able to work independently exercising sound judgment in reviewing & assessing data
- Able to handle heavy workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Flexibility and willingness to adjust quickly to changing priorities
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written & listening)
- Professional, positive manner a must
