Passionate about movies? Looking to learn and gain real life production experience in a fast-paced, super creative environment? The Cineplex Digital Media division of Cineplex Entertainment Limited Partnership is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to assist our creative team with designing and developing Quick Service Restaurant marketing materials, reporting directly to the Art Director, Cineplex Digital Media. This position will be based out of our Cineplex Digital Media office located at 369 York Street in London, Ontario. Please note: this is a 3 month contract.
 
You are seeking experience in a production studio environment and wanting to work on well known brands. You have a bold, clean, detail-orientated sense of design with training and education in Graphic Design. You are comfortable with all stages of design — from concept to production. You are proficient at InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. You’re a self-starter but capable of being a team player. You’re hungry to learn and able to learn fast – always committed to hitting your deadlines and going above and beyond for the client. You’re not afraid to think outside the box and present new ideas. No task is too big or too small for you to take on.
 
In this role you will be responsible for creating and aiding the development of print and digital merchandising solutions and creative content for some of North America’s leading brands within the Quick Service Restaurant industry.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Senior Designers and Art Directors in ensuring that assigned creative meets business objectives
  • Large scale, iterative production and repurposing of existing print and digital collateral / point of sale material for in-store/exterior merchandising applications
  • Development and maintenance of print/digital menu board materials
  • Ensure consistency in quality of output and adhere to brand standards
  • Follow internal processes
  • Development of InDesign PDF documentation for approval processes and proposals
  • Photoshop compositing and image retouching
  • Expected to articulate design decisions and rationale
  • Submit daily time sheet detailing work execution
 
Key Skills and Experience
  • Graphic Design certificate or diploma.
  • Meticulous design skills.
  • Proficiency with Adobe CS/Cloud products, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat for Mac OS.
  • Knowledgeable of post-production workflows and file formats.
  • Able to work traditional and occasionally non-traditional hours.
  • Proven design skills, including an understanding of composition, colour theory and typography.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and be able to multi-task several jobs.
  • Can work under pressure within a fast turnaround environment.
  • Ability to take direction and craft your work when time permits
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Thrives in a team environment, but can also work independently.
  • Very collaborative, great at sharing ideas and accepting constructive criticism.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly

Assets:
  • Experience working in a Marketing or Advertising production studio environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble documentation/creative proposals.
  • UI/UX background.
  • Print pre-press experience.
  • Responsive Design background.
  • Demonstrated capacity for working with technology.
  • Excellent public-speaking skills.
  • Experience designing Quick Service Restaurant marketing materials.
  • Ability to illustrate and sketch.
  • Competent photo-editing and photo-manipulation skills as it relates to food and beverage photography.
