Currently the GKN - St. Thomas facility is recruiting for a Production Supervisor for a rotating day and afternoon shift.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Supervise a team of approximately 20 to 30 employees which may include personnel from support departments (i.e. tool room, maintenance, etc.)
• Ensure strict adherence to Company standards, procedures, policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Plan and organize production (personnel and equipment) in order to meet customer requirements
• Monitor and control production key performance indicators (cost, process, quality, delivery, housekeeping, scrap, employee attendance)
• Respond to and find solutions to production issues; liaise with other internal departments (i.e. Quality/Maintenance)
• Actively promote a positive work environment
• Build effective teams, motivate employees and maintain positive employee relations/morale
• Maintain daily accounts for time and attendance systems
• Ensure work areas are safe and employees abide by all safety rules and regulations  
• Complete regular layered audits and ensure all corrective actions are implemented on time
• Champions diversity and inclusion in line with Company guidelines

Job Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in an automotive environment
• University or College Diploma in a related field is preferred
• Computer literate (SAP, Microsoft Office)
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
• Effective time management, organizational and communication skills
• Disciplined problem solving skills
• Strong conflict resolution skills
• Experience in a unionized environment is preferred
• Ability to work frequent overtime during the week and on weekends
