As a member of the Human Resources team, the HRIS Analyst provides systems support and analysis to meet the needs of the Human Resources department and users of Human Resources Systems. This position is accountable for report development and application support for all Human Resources Systems including PeopleSoft, Workbrain and the Applicant Tracking System as well as complex reporting for Learning Edge. Other responsibilities may include assisting with projects, process improvement initiatives, training and documentation. With a strong focus on customer service, the HRIS Analyst possesses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that enable you to effectively interpret, analyze and troubleshoot. The HRIS Analyst will have a working knowledge of human resources practices (eg. payroll process, benefits, recruitment, employee relations and collective agreements) to assist in understanding business processes, transactions and reporting needs. This position involves developing and generating complex, customized queries and reports, recommending enhancements to HRIS service delivery procedures/processes related to maintaining data integrity, maintaining system tables and providing end user support.
Essential Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized college diploma program in a relevant field, e.g. Human Resources Administration, Business Information Systems and/or Business Administration
- Minimum two years experience supporting HRIS systems inclusive of table maintenance, configuration and report writing
- Intermediate Report writing skills using Crystal, XML Publisher, Cognos and other reporting tools
- General understanding of Human Resource practices (ie. payroll, benefits and employee relations)
- Previous project experience assisting with upgrading HRIS systems
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Knowledge of accepted system testing strategies
- Strong knowledge of the entire MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel
- Must be a self starter and demonstrate a high level of initiative
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team based environment
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Ability to exercise good judgment in a confidential setting
- Flexible at meeting multiple demands
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Workbrain or similar HR systems
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills with high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a health care setting
