Job Description
Payroll and Benefits Assistant
DESCRIPTION:
The Payroll/Benefits Assistant reports to the VP Finance as well as the Payroll and Benefits Manager and is responsible for collecting, verifying and processing payroll information for both monthly and bi-weekly College payrolls ensuring accurate and timely generation of direct deposit information and accounting reports in support of the King’s accounting and fiduciary responsibilities related to payroll. In addition, the incumbent will assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager with the administration of King’s benefit programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum requirements include a College diploma in Accounting or Payroll Administration, and a Payroll Compliance Certificate and a minimum of 2 years’ directly related experience with payroll functions. CGA certification (or working towards a CGA at Level 3 or higher) is preferred. The incumbent will have a general knowledge of accounting principles and tax legislation. Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision would be an asset. In addition, the Assistant will possess strong interpersonal, communications and problem solving skills, solid judgment, outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
TYPE OF JOB: Regular Full-time
PROBATION PERIOD: 6 months
SALARY RANGE: SSG-13 $53,748.- 65,485. per annum (depending on experience)
