Job Purpose:

Primary point of contact on multiple projects; performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating, and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams made up of professional staff from various departments and functions. Interfaces with the customer and Marwood's technical staff to ensure effective definition of and delivery of projects. Provides regular and proactive communications to customers and Marwood Senior Management.

The Program Manager is responsible for managing all APQP activities, timing, customer requirements and personnel with respect to the successful launch of a new or existing program. This would include all tooling, capital, purchasing, cost, timing and development of the entire program from time of award until SOP and continue for life of program with respect to Engineering Changes, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned new programs from order inception through successful launch and Product Life for Engineering Changes for existing product:
    • Develop & get team approval of APQP Plan; lead the plan to completion
    • Coordinate to assure APQP Plan activities are accomplished and milestone timing is met
    • Take actions necessary to assure the product is launched on time
    • Retain Program records that are well organized, easy to retrieve & demonstrate compliance with applicable procedures.
  • Assure that all Customer Designs, Specifications, Testing and GD&T are understood and feasible.
  • Provide leadership, performance feedback & motivation.
  • Determine training needs and assures training gets accomplished & is effective.
  • Monitor tool procurement activities on new products & changes with vendor.
  • Coordinate with vendor and the tool makers to assure construction is done including adherence to timing & construction guidelines.
  • Coordinate/Lead packaging development activities on new products and changes.
  • Coordinate verification & validation activities.
  • Complete the customer forms as required.
  • Report on program progress and update necessary documentation.
  • Assures correct forms (SPPS, APPS, MPC, DWI) are clear, concise, and relevant & meet the requirements of format & content directives.
  • Participate in review meetings with complete & detailed knowledge of the status of the programs.
  • Perform various TS16949 duties:
    • Demonstrate conformance with TS16949 procedures in internal and external TS16949 audits, and compliance with Customer Specific Requirements
    • Perform corrective action activity, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Degree/diploma in Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years applicable experience in automotive industry
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of Program Management
  • Computer efficiency skills in MS Office and MS Project
  • Time Management Training is preferred
  • Basic SPC and GD&T understanding
  • Knowledge of stamping and welding process (both RSW and GMAW)
