EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS
Permanent Positions
17 Permanent Full-time – 7 hours per day
20 Permanent Part-time – 3.5 hours per day
CLASSIFICATION: Educational Assistant (10 month position)
RATE OF PAY: $20.26 - $24.49 per hour
HOURS OF WORK: Full-time: 7 hours per day
Part-time: 3 hours & 30 minutes per day
START DATE: As soon as possible
EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS
Applicants who have the necessary qualifications (excluding permanent CUPE 7575 members) and who wish to be considered for the following positions are invited to submit an electronic application. Your electronic application should include a cover letter and résumé outlining your complete work history, academic qualifications and other accomplishments, proof of educational qualifications, proof of current BMS/CPI (if required) and contact information for a minimum of two (2) supervisory employment references.
JOB SUMMARY:
Through a team approach, the Educational Assistant will assist the student(s) and their teacher(s) with the academic program in a manner that facilitates the emotional, social and academic growth of the student(s) according to their individual and collective needs. In addition to the specific areas mentioned in the postings, the Educational Assistant is assigned to the school location and therefore may be assigned duties outside the posting as deemed necessary by the Principal.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
A two-year Community College Diploma or acceptable equivalent with courses relating to the specific assignment (i.e. Developmental Services Worker- preferred, etc.)
EXPIRY DATE: 2015 February 13
Prior to an offer of employment, the recruitment process requires a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons and employment medical screening tests will be required.
