We prepare today's entrepreneurs to launch new ventures, provide education and networking opportunities to accelerate business growth for small-to-medium-sized enterprises, and advocate for the needs of our growing tech community.

Reporting to the Director, Programs & Engagement, the Programs Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the planning and logistics of all initiatives as part of TechAlliance’s annual program year.

As the Programs Coordinator, you will be expected to apply your experience and understanding of event planning and program development to assist in the execution of high quality programs and initiatives for companies at all stages of business growth, within a fast-paced environment. You will also support the activities of our communications team assisting with the marketing and promotion of TechAlliance’s programs. Occasional work in the early morning and evenings will be required. 

Core Responsibilities
 
  • Alongside the Director, Programs & Engagement and the Membership Coordinator assist with the logistics and execution of the program year running annually from September-July. This includes events as part of our Emerging Venture, and Innovation & Growth series’, as well as all Special Events and Educational Outreach initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with program-related vendors and venues.  
  • Pre-event preparation including but not limited to: creation and management of all EventBrite pages used for online registration, coordinating catering requirements, nametag preparation, organizing speaker needs and acquiring necessary supplies.
  • Prepare critical paths and/or event plans for required programs.
  • Assist with event promotion, including but not limited to distributing event invitations, liaising with partners and sponsors and personal correspondence with the target audience.
  • Understand the goals of the companies TechAlliance is supporting and keep them informed of upcoming opportunities.
Qualifications
 
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education in a related discipline
Experience
  • 2 to 3 years of prior work experience in program or event coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals
Skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to manage many tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and confidence in ones abilities 
Assets
  • Knowledge of, and involvement with the local tech community
  • Familiarity with software programs SalesForce, EventBrite, SurveyGizmo
  • Comfortable with social media
  • Understanding of web analytics 
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (depending upon experience) + 4% Vacation Pay
 
Hours: Monday to Friday; 22.5 hours per week
 
The term of the position will be one (1) year, with the possibility for renewal.
