Job Description

The West Elgin Community Health Centre has an amazing opportunity for a full-time, primary care nurse practitioner.

Hourly Rate of Pay: up to $65.79/hour based on 37.5 work hours a week.

Located on-site in West Lorne, our successful candidate will work within an interdisciplinary team including nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, diabetes educators and dietitians, psychotherapists, youth advocacy, programs and services for seniors and adults with disabilities, systems navigation, homelessness systems navigation, health promotion as well as on-site support from various services.

Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Perform client assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education/counseling and other clinical activities
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Registered Nurses, Extended Class (RN-EC) standards of practice and within the Centre’s policies and procedures
  • Work towards the achievement of the performance indicators outlined in the Ontario Health West Accountability Agreement and the Health Centre’s Strategic Plan

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse, Extended Class (RN-EC) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Personal professional liability insurance required
  • Understanding the challenges facing rural populations preferred
  • Ability to work one evening a week (currently Tuesday or Thursday) and participate in on-call rotation
  • Alignment with the Centre’s mission and values is essential
  • Experience with EMRs. PS Suites knowledge preferred
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination, or valid medical exemption and current vulnerable sector police check required

The West Elgin Community Health Centre is located in the beautiful, rural community of West Lorne, Ontario. We are conveniently situated a half hour outside of London and Chatham. West Elgin is an amazing area to live, work and play with a 10 minute drive to Lake Erie from our Centre!
