Talentcor London is recruiting for our client, a London based multi-national organization considered a leader in the manufacturing sector.

We are looking to fill a Communication Specialist role. This position is a 1 year contract.

Position Summary:                 

The Communications Specialist will play an integral role in the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategies to create awareness; to grow, qualify and nurture B2B prospects in a sales environment; and enable Client to achieve its strategic business goals. As a member of the Division, you will join a company who is the Canadian leader of personal protective equipment, focused on key markets such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Construction, Pharmaceuticals and Manufacturing. 

The Communications Specialist designs, implements, coordinates and assesses a broad range of communication strategies that positively positions client as the Canadian leader in personal protective equipment. The Communications Specialist interacts daily with Division and Corporate Marketing teams on a wide variety of initiatives to support this mandate.

 Primary Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Work closely with the Marketing Communications Manager and the Digital Marketing Supervisor to initiate communications tactics that promote lead generation for our sales organization
  • Coordinate with marketers, sales and communications staff to ensure a cohesive and unified approach for communications campaigns and new product introductions
  • Maintain and update a working marketing communications editorial calendar including individual contribution to social media, digital and print ad buy, white papers and other narrative content
  • Research and understand the customer’s safety needs, business model and other key factors to influence quantifiable buying decisions through traditional and new media approach
  • Plan and execute trade shows and special events with strategic alignment to customer journey outcomes, including effective management of sponsorship negotiation, ad buy and show logistics (exhibit experience and floor plan)
  • Forecast, monitor and spend against monthly and annual budgets while liaising closely with Agencies of Record to manage and deliver projects on time
  • Oversee analytics and report to product marketers and leadership in a way that is understandable and relevant to business priorities
  • Ensure the integration and alignment of products marketing and communication strategies with client brand platform
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Keep informed of best practices and developments in the fields of marketing and communications.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, marketing or public relations
  • Minimum six to eight years’ experience in marketing, communications or public relations, with demonstrated success in traditional and new media preferably in a business to business environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant post-graduate studies in public relations, communications, marketing or other related field
  • Demonstrated project management experience, knowledge and engagement with technical, industrial or safety distribution environment  
  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills with the ability to write, edit and publish in journalistic, research oriented and marketing styles
  • High energy, mature communicator with a keen understanding of critical success factors for business to business organizations
  • Innovative thinker with experience translating strategic thinking into action plans, hands on implementation and measurable results through traditional and digital media tactics
  • Develops, executes and manages traditional, social and digital media strategies that raises awareness of personal protective equipment, safety solutions and prevention; builds a loyal and engaged end-user audience; increases lead quality; and ultimately drives sales
  • Experience leveraging social sales tools (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, webinars, podcasts, blogs)
  • Productive in a high volume, rapidly changing environment requiring honed organizational skills with the ability to stay focused on outcomes
  • Strong analytic research skills and the ability to use market research information to improve and enhance communications to target audiences (safety professionals, end-users and purchase influencers)
  • Effective in teams and willing to collaborate and compromise, including demonstration of team leadership
  • Curious, creative and engaging personality
  • Proven ability to exercise diplomacy, good judgment and activate strong listening
