Job Description
The County of Elgin has an exciting career opportunity for a Temporary Full-Time Human Resources Assistant (12-month contract). Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources, this generalist position will mainly provide recruitment, selection, and administrative assistance to the department and corporation. This position will be involved in many different aspects of Human Resources, however will maintain a focus on providing administrative and customer service support for the HR department and facilitate the full cycle recruitment process for the County’s three (3) Long-Term Care Homes.
Key Responsibilities:
Salary: $36.21 - $42.37 per hour ($65,902.20 - $77,113.40 per year) (2022 Rates)

Key Responsibilities:
- Develops, recommends and co-ordinates the implementation and administration of Human Resources policies/procedures for the County.
- Establishes all employee files ensuring confidentiality is maintained with MFIPPA compliance
- LTC Homes recruitment.
- Manages job postings and/or newspaper advertisements.
- Prepares interview schedules and packages.
- Facilitates candidate interviews, referencing and selection.
- Drafts and presents offer letters.
- Obtains and verifies required documentation to ensure conditions of employment are always met.
- Collects all onboarding documentation.
- Administrative support for health and safety training documents.
- Processes WSIB Invoicing.
- Prepares and distributes union seniority lists.
- Updates job descriptions.
- Performs receptionist duties for HR office, greeting visitors, answering the telephone, providing information and referring enquiries to other staff where necessary.
- General Human Resources or administrative duties as assigned.
Salary: $36.21 - $42.37 per hour ($65,902.20 - $77,113.40 per year) (2022 Rates)
