Control Systems Programmer

With operation in over 45 countries and offering a wide range of R&D solutions to manufacture and market high-quality ventilation products our client is growing at a rapid rate and looking to add to the team an experienced Control Systems Programmer preferably with HVAC experience and a focus on BAS controls design. In addition to a recent move into a larger facility in Tillsonburg, the technical center is home to the school classroom ventilation equipment as well as testing facilities and labs.

Working through the Engineering department, this key individual would be programming OEM project specific applications and support the design and application of new products as well as offer technical support for various products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Managing multiple tasks and prioritize changing workloads
•Technical support in the application and project specific control requirements of our product with the Production and Sales teams.
•Effectively integrate software and hardware into application and project specific controls across our various product offerings.
•Test and verify control systems during commissioning process.
•Application / project documentation development, maintenance and support of the control systems design, from system to component level.
•Support the Engineering Team in product development of controls systems programs and sequences to efficiently control our various HVAC products.
•Aid in the design of quality HVAC equipment using best practices to support long term reliability while also providing economical production costs and maintaining regulatory requirements.
•Perform research for future technologies and product development while applying energy efficient technologies and theories in a practical way.
•Aid the Engineering Team in the development and maintenance of supporting documentation, specifications, technical manuals, etc.
•Strong understanding and apply all relevant safety and performance codes and standards

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
•Engineering or Technologist degree an asset
•Experience with Distech Controls an asset
•BAS control systems open protocol programming knowledge and design experience preferred (BACnet, LOND, MODBUS)
•Working Knowledge of HVAC related codes and standards
•Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and diagrams
•Ability to apply theoretical concepts towards practical results
