Note: This is a part-time temporary Faculty position (up to 6 hours per week) starting September 4, 2017 and ending December 16, 2017.

The School of Applied Science and Technology is accepting resumes for a Part-time Professor - Biology.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated classroom leadership with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success

• Demonstrated skills in promoting an active learning environment and creating student engagement

• Excellent communication skills both written and oral

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners

• Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies is required

• Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred
  Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have:

• A graduate degree in a biology-related discipline along with applied industry experience operating in GMP or GLP facilities

• Background knowledge in both plant and animal physiology

• Experience with both animal and plant cell culture an asset

• Background in basic cell biology and introductory biochemistry

• Prior experience instructing basic techniques of molecular biology (setting up and running gels, centrifugation, purification of plasmids, PCR, etc.)
