In an effort to materially amplify Western's on-campus entrepreneurial culture and community contribution, Western's Student Entrepreneurship Centre will channel the ideas, talent, passion and creative energy of its students into an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship beyond anything offered or experienced at an institution of higher learning anywhere in Canada.

The Campus-Linked Accelerator program is a collaboration between Western University and Fanshawe College. As such, there is a need to ensure that a shared resource exists to manage the events, people and organizations that will interact with both institutions through this initiative to ensure its success. The Community Liaison role will serve as the main point of contact between the two institutions, and will ensure the initiatives, programming, events and services are well aligned. 

The Community Liaison Coordinator will develop and maintain relationships with 15-20 relevant community organizations, including non-profit, private industry and government sectors.  The incumbent will also act as the lead on specific programs in order to design, deliver and evaluate innovative, leading-edge entrepreneurial events/services.  This includes networking events, workshops, pitch competitions, hosting expert office hours, and coordinating meetings with mentors.

Education:
-   University degree; Western Graduate with experience in communications and Public Relations preferred

Experience:
-   3 years' experience in a marketing, public relations or business development related position, including direct experience building and managing client relationships with corporate and community-based organizations
-   2 years' experience in planning and implementing strategies, such as event planning, marketing, and sponsorships
-   2 years experience working with small and medium-sized enterprises (or business development)
-   2 years' experience working in a university environment preferably with a student service background an asset
-   2 years' experience leading/supervising/orienting staff or volunteers preferred

Skills & Expertise:
-   Advanced ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) to all levels of the organization
-   Influential interpersonal skills that build positive and strong relationships
-   Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and to propose and initiate new programming ideas or service delivery models that meet the needs of students, alumni, youth, community members, and campus partners
-   Excellent time management and organizational skills; Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and client needs.
-   Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to growth and change
-   Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate University events and activities (weeknights between Sept-April, and weekends)
-   Strong record of team work with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
-   Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
-   Intermediate skills in the use of Microsoft Office, as well as internet and email applications
-   Understanding of the role that entrepreneurship and innovation programs play in the engagement and development of all constituents
-   Valid driver's license with access to a personal vehicle, preferred
-   Ability to plan and manage events of various sizes; familiarity with large scale events an asset
