Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).

Duties: The Manager, Advancement Services, is accountable for the financial management of the Advancement and Alumni department with a focus on donor fund reporting to more than 700 major gift contributors to the College. These funds support major capital projects as well as equipment and student financial assistance programs that includes awards, bursaries, scholarships and emergency loans. This also includes all gift-in-kind equipment averaging more than $600,000 annually for College programs.

 

The Manager is also responsible for the management of accurate and timely accounting practices and procedures for the Fanshawe Alumni Association and all of the College's fundraising activity, including events such as golf tournaments, year-end shows etc.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary 3 year diploma/degree in a related discipline such as Accounting, Business or Finance

  • Minimum 5 years of related, progressive work experience is required at the point of hire into this position

  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered

  • Professional accounting designation such as CA, CMA or CGA

  • Financial administration/accounting background and solid skills and experience in budget planning, forecasting and resource allocation

  • Knowledge of CRA rules and regulations

  • Supervisory experience with strong leadership ability as well as conflict resolution and consultation skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Suite and computer literate

  • Advanced knowledge of Raiser's Edge software programs required

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and project management skills

  • Ability to interpret legislation and government guidelines

  • Understanding of the role of resource development and donations to the provision of government and non-government funded awards, scholarships, bursaries and college initiatives

  • Excellent customer service and highly developed communication/interpersonal skills - both verbal and written
