PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
The Publisher’s Representative is an experienced relationship manager who is highly motivated by and committed to taking excellent care of current customers, while building relationships to create new customers. The incumbent is self-motivated and driven by sales-generating activities to exceed sales targets and grow market share in a niche market with an irregular and long-term sales cycle. A skilled communicator, the Publisher’s Representative is dynamic in person, by phone and email, and can create successful email campaigns and write interesting site content. Willingness and ability to travel regularly, both within Canada and globally is imperative, as is intellectual curiosity, and a desire to be an integral part of a supportive and engaging team.

This is a 2 year renewable contract position with full benefits.

KEY RESULTS AREAS:
- Visit current and potential Ivey case customers in the assigned territory to develop the market and sales revenue for Ivey cases, and actively promote acquisition of new cases from non-Ivey faculty that meet the strategic needs of Ivey Publishing.
- Conduct targeted email campaigns to promote the use of Ivey cases and increase sales revenue and author acquisition.
- Respond to queries for cases and other learning materials and assist customers in finding appropriate materials for their course/s while adhering to team service response standards.
- Participate in selected academic conferences and workshops to promote Ivey cases and increase awareness.
- In conjunction with other Publisher’s Representatives, assist the Team Leader in the strategic planning of all sales and marketing activities that will increase revenue for Ivey Publishing.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Undergraduate university degree.
- Minimum of three years’ related relationship management with business development experience in a professional corporate setting i.e. Higher Education, Financial.
- Strong ability to initiate, establish, nurture meaningful business relationships with commitment to providing exceptional quality and customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of professional verbal and written communication, tact and diplomacy.
- Competitive desire to exceed goals and grow results within a defined territory.
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills; high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and follow-up.
- Maturity, self-confidence, and professionalism consistent with the Ivey image.
- Experience with contact management databases desirable. Ability to multitask, work effectively within a team towards common goals and ability to organize own work to meet multiple demanding deadlines.
- Able to set priorities based on potential revenue opportunities.
- Intermediate computer skills i.e. Microsoft office and database applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally approximately 10 to 12 weeks per year, and work outside of regular business hours.
- Valid driver’s license required.
